The Pregnant Ladies Sheep Project

Finally I've completed it, and can reveal the fruits of my winter knitting labouring. It all began back in summer when within the space of about two weeks five of my female friends announced their pregnancies - five! So I casually thought it might be a nice idea to knit all the new babies a little welcoming gift. I chose the sheep pattern that I entered (unsuccessfully) in the Rangiora Show last year as it is nice and non-gender-specific but I didn't realise how thoroughly BORING it is when you make it 5 times over.

So far 2 ladies have popped out their goods (welcome Charlotte and Sophie) with 3 to go. And Boo had a great time pretending to be a real sheep dog (ps please ignore the 2 foot high grass/weeds in the background - they are my spring project).

1977

OK, so I'm a little slow off the mark when it comes to all things internet-y, and it has taken me a long time to see what all the hype is about with regard to flickr.com. Then the other day I was checking in at the Meet Me At Mike's blog (here) and they are doing this thing where they pick a year then do a search in flickr and come up with some truly incredible pictures. So I sat myself down and did a seach for 1977 and man were there some crackers.

I particularly like this one of a couple landing in New Zealand at the beginning of their 1977 vacation:

And there are lots of ones of cats and dogs which are really sad because all of them are dead now.

Even this puppy:
