Matt and I are looking for a rug for our living room, as the concrete tiles aren't especially warm, and are very hard (as concrete tends to be). Dilana is a large rug manufacturer in Christchurch, not far from our house, so we headed along to day to see if we could find anything for us.
It was so cool to see all the cones of wool lined up, and rugs in the process of being made.
A very cool place indeed. Unfortunately, turns out the rugs are all way out of our price range. Nice though.

A bit of a distraction..
Last Tuesday morning I took Boo down to Redcliffs for a walk as it was an epic day - so sunny and warm.
I took a few photos, and thought how boring the blog was getting as it all seemed to be pictures of Boo at the beach, or crafty things for babies.
After I walked Boo, I had coffee with a friend, went to the garden store, potted a few plants, shaved my legs (!) and then I had a baby. True story.
I swore to myself that there would be no mention of a baby on the blog (although I was free to mention bunting and mobiles and baby quilts) for fear that this would turn into a 'mummy blog'. But then this guy came along, and I have spent a whole week trying to think of something to post that isn't baby related, and I realised that now there actually is nothing else. For the meantime anyway.
I'm sure in a few weeks I will have something else to mention, maybe some food thing, or maybe we will go out somewhere fun, but for now we are tied to this little man (who is totally a mini-Matt which is slightly disconcerting), so there is little to say. Matt wrote a Haiku describing our current situation:
Boob poo bed boob poo
Bed boob poo bath boob bed boob
Poo bed boob poo bed.

Bird mobile!
It's taken me about six months, but I finally finished and hung my bird mobile on the weekend. The hardest part was balancing all the little birdies on to the stick I picked up at Sumner Beach, but I got there in the end, and I think it looks pretty cool.
It swings around in the breeze too, which is what a good mobile should do.
I got the pattern for the birds from here, and as always, just used up old scraps of fabric.

Weekend away
We had the most amazing weekend away. the weather was so warm and lovely, and there was nothing to do except eat and sleep and take Boo for multiple swims. Oh, and there was a French classic car show, which was most upsetting as there were a couple of DS's there like our old one. Apparently this car was the highlight (according to Matt):

Finished bunting...
I finished the bunting last week and have hung it up in it's rightful place. I have to admit, I'm pretty happy with it, and the best part is, it has depleted my stash of fabric even further - so good to finally find a use for all those odds and ends.
